Why Hearing loss occur its Causes and Symptoms

Hearing loss is becoming more prevalent in this noisy world and is increasing day by day. it is believed that onset of hearing impairment is happening in younger age. Hearing is ability to detect the sound vibrations. Humans can listen the sounds that lie between the range of 20 Hz to 20,00 Hz .hearing loss prevents someone to receives the sound normally it may be mild ,moderate or severe. Hearing loss is defined as tiny hair cells inside the inner year help in hearing. they pick the sound  waves and change into the nerve signals that the brain interprets as sound .hearing loss occur when the tiny hair are damaged and the regret of hair cells is not possible. Hearing loss can be caused by the different factors and is treated by the surgery or medicine. The most common types of hearing loss are following:

Conductive Hearing Loss: caused by the obstruction in the middle ear. It may be temporary, chronic or permanent and is treated by surgery.

Sensorineuarl Hearing Loss: results in the damage of the part of inner ear also called as nerve deafness. the only treatment is hearing aid.

Mixed Hearing Loss: it occurred due to the above mentioned types damage to the inner and the outer ear and is very rare to occur.

Mostly the hearing loss occur due to the changes caused in the inner ear because with the passage of time it grow older. It may be congenital but the factor like noise pollution, headphones also play an important role in hearing loss. Hearing loss is the third leading cause of years lived with disability. in adults hearing impairment often makes it difficult to obtain jobs there are some factors that leads to the age related hearing loss:

  • Family history
  • Repeated exposure to loud noises
  • Smoking
  • Medicines

Hearing loss can result in both physiological and physical problems.

  • Genetics
  • Heart diseases
  • Diabetes
  • Socio economic status
  • Alcohol
  • Hypertension

Hearing get slower with the passage of time as the person gets older and the symptoms include:

  • Difficulty in hearing
  • Repeating the question again and again
  • Frustration
  • Ringing in the ear

Certain test can be taken to detect the hearing loss .An instrument called as otoscope is used for the examination of ears. Research says that women have higher power of listening as compared

In the era of technology people become lazy just like the fragile butterflies. due to the usage of headphone results in hearing loss. Loud music also causes hearing loss. The more you use headphones the more bacteria produce in the ears which cause irritation. As the person become weaker and in the old age suffer from lot of disease. The whole body mechanism work slowly may also leads to hearing loss. In which Australia it is observed that 20% of adult population suffer from the hearing loss and the number exceeds 50% in 65 yr of age. Social factors also lead to hearing loss such as depression and dementia. Age related hearing loss gets worse. it cannot be reversed and may leads to permanent death. it may cause to isolation. Seek help from family and friends and try to continue a active life. By avoiding the exposure to loud sound and earplugs we can prevent hearing loss otherwise it would be dangerous.
